You can do a google search for pro bono attorneys, and pro bono programs in your state.
You can call the Maricopa County Bar Association and see if they can direct you to some pro bono lawyers.
First of all be calm and take a deep breath. You did not really outline what the problem is. This is not a setback- it could turn into an advantage. As the other Counselors have mentioned, call Maricopa County. You may also call the Bar Association. You may also check for child custody legal clinics to find answers. Now we ARE NOT CUSTODY Lawyers-- but we want to say that you may check in Florida, but if the child is 18 now; the "child" may actually be considered an adult and be able to make their own choices as to who they live with. As we understand it, the debt of child support does not evaporate when the child is 18- it becomes DUE in full then. These are all things that a good Family lawyer in Fla can assist you with. Don't lose hope! You are the Mom! And that has a lot of weight in court! Good Luck!

You could check your local legal services or legal aid office. If you meet their income guidelines they should be able to assist you particularly if domestic violence is involved. Their guidelines are often tied to the poverty level, however sometimes the income requirements are more relaxed for victims of domestic violence.
