My boyfriend is in jail for something I know he didn't do. When the police calm he stole a car and hit the man with it he was with me. And we never left my house we where there from 2:00pm to 7:30. They said the crime was committed around 5 or 6 in the evening. He has been in prison since 2014. I know it's a long time and there is probably nothing to really do.
You (and he) have known since before 2014 that you could establish an alibi defense for your boyfriend? Talk to a post-conviction lawyer about this immediately if you have not already done so. There are jurisdictional deadlines for attempting to reopen a case and not knowing the deadline will not excuse the late filing.
This response is a general answer to a question posed by an unidentified person and is therefore not case-specific. It is not intended to and does not create an attorney-client relationship between the answerer and anyone viewing the response.
He's been in prison since 2014 for this situation? Did you testify at his trial, or did he plead to something?
Did you testify at trial about the alibi? The only thing you could do for him at this point is to talk to a good lawyer who does post conviction work. He or she may be able to argue for a new trial if there is evidence that was not available or presented at the first trial.
