I was ticketed for possession of less than an ounce (10g? Don't remember) of marijuana in Feb of 2014. The fine was $300. I never sent in the payment, so now assume there is a warrant. How do I go about settling the situation? Will it require going to Florida? Or can I handle this via mail? Do I need a lawyer?
You should contact a Florida criminal defense attorney and discuss the situation. There might be something they can do so that you won't have to go to Florida.

You need to contact a Florida attorney and have them contact the Court...
You need a lawyer. Your lawyer can contact the prosecutor to see if your appearance is required in Florida.
I'm a former prosecutor in Florida and I'm licensed in New York. Call me and I can take care of this for you. If your presence is required, you may be able to enter what's called a "plea in absentia" or plea in your absence. As a former prosecutor I used to accept those all the time.
