How do i go about getting a divorce

I would suggest that you speak with your husband first to see if he will consent to what is generally referred to as an "uncontested" divorce where you keep whatever assets or liabilities you have acquired during your relatively short marriage and he keeps whatever assets or liabilities he has acquired during your marriage. If he agrees, it is a relatively simple and inexpensive process that you can possibly do yourself, though it is generally best to retain a matrimonial lawyer. If he (or you) does not agree with this, I would urge you to consult with an experienced matrimonial lawyer. Good luck!
