We were both living in NJ with our daughter when we got divorced. The filed divorce in the SUPERIOR COURT OF NEW JERSEY, WARREN COUNTY stipulates child support. Dad moved to Puerto Rico with his parents to avoid paying child support. Dad is 3 years in arrears. I was told I need a lawyer in both NJ and Puerto Rico. Are there firms in NJ that also have an office in Puerto Rico? Thank you!
I do not know why you would need an attorney in Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico is included in the Uniform Interstate Family Support Act (UIFSA). File a motion to enforce child support in Warren County. The court has jurisdiction.
