My husband and I moved into an apartment on 7/1/2017. We lived there till 6/20/2018. She sent us the move out instructions and lists of items and charges if something is broken and needed to be fixed and she was to probate the Junes rent till 6/20. My husband and I cleaned this apartment thoroughly and made sure there was nothing there and videoed the whole place for our records. On the inspection day on 6/20 she gave us many excuses and did not come till 6/25. My husband, the landlord and myself went into the apartment to do the final walk through and her first words were "WOW, you guys have done a great job with the cleaning, good job guys and started taking pictures of EVERYTHING. (from cabinets, closet, toilet, sinks, etc) After she was done we asked if everything was OK and her immediate response was "PERFECT". She did the paper work in the kitchen and gave us a copy of the move out sheet which had Zero amount and NOTHING to be fix and said we should received our deposit and the prorated amt a few weeks. We finally got the check and it was $150.00 short and no prorated rent for June and they are refusing to talk to us. Please help us as we are confused. Thank you ALL.
Was there something in your lease that allowed your final month to be prorated? That is not normal.
