The situation is:
My husband and I have a car that has both our names on the title. We are separated now and I have a restraining order against him for domestic violence. He has a child by another woman. His child's mother filed for child support, and the state put a lien on the car for the back child support. I received a letter that said the child support was paid in full. I don't understand why the lien has not been lifted on the car now. How do I get the lien off the car and get it in my name only?
Contact the state office that filed the lien and ask them to release it, and ask your ex to sign the car over to you so that future debts don't put another lien back on the vehicle.
