I recently had a baby and unfortunately both me and the baby tested positive for methamphetamine therefore cps was called and ended up talking my 2 year old also into protective custody. My court appointed lawyer told me today that it will be a few weeks maybe a month before they will be able to come home. Is there any way it could be sooner ? Is my lawyer not doing as good a job as if I were to hire one myself??
There is no way it will be sooner. If you are not happy with the job your appointed attorney is doing, you can certainly hire a private attorney. But don't expect to get your kids back any sooner. Meth is seriously addictive. CPS has to know that you are clean and will be able to stay clean before you get your kids back. That takes time.
