I have a lodger in my home who is causing health and safety issues. he is a hoarder and has garbage and dirty dishes all over. Amongst that are piles of I dont know what in there. he has so many devices in there that it has cause for a fire concern. TV, refrigerator 2 computors, surveleilance cameras and floodlamps are just what I can see at a glance. he refused to clean up after my asking for several months. I finally went into his room on Sept. 11 and my sister made a video of the room. i was going to serve him with a 3 day notice to perform covenant or quit. It was then when he said something about being in his room and the video taping of it. I knew he would know because of his surveilance cameras. I did not remove anything. And only cleared a small area for 2. sticky traps. he cursed me about it and changed the lock on his door. So now I dont have access in case of fire or any other emergency. Such as yesterday when it rained buckets(finally)and I was concerned with water damage because he had installed a window air conditioner with only cardboard around it. Rent is due and he only cursed me. I am at my wits end. And I am concerned for my safety
I would consult with a local landlord tenant attorney about how to go about this.
