Robert: To tell you the truth, here is your problem from an attorney standpoint. You are asking an attorney to finance your case. Attorneys do not like to finance cases because most of us have been burned in the past. Your best option if you want an attorney to handle your case is to get a loan or a cash advance from a credit card or have someone or some company finance your case and not the lawyer. The large majority of lawyers do not want to be that finance company thus making it very hard for you to find an attorney. We are all trying to make a living for ourselves and pay our mortgages and bills on a month to month basis, just like anyone else. We cannot afford to also be the finance company. Maybe you will be lucky and find a pro bono attorney if you spend some time calling around to the attorneys in your area. But that will be hit and miss. Contact a local organization such as Catholic Charities or if you have a local Legal Aid Society. Maybe then can help. Or your local Bar Association may have a reduced fee referral program for people who meet certain income requirements.
