My husband and I got physical custody of his 2 sons 6 years ago (I am only the stepmom and not a legal guardian). We got a court order changing one of my stepsons last name to my husbands and now we need a replacement social security card. How can I get one as my husband cannot make it to our office that's open from 9am-12pm? Can I take my husbands drivers license with me?
You should call the office directly and see what is required. If you have legal custody, you would be able to go and do this. If you don't, I'm fairly certain your husband is going to have to take time off to make this request in person. Again, the local social security office will know more about this. Best of luck to you!
