Child protective services will not do anything and my children are being abused by their father. i don't have money for a lawyer but my children are scared to go back to their dad's house, what do I do?
If you go to nccourts.org and select Mecklenburg County from the county selection box, there is a self service center that has a lot of fill in the blank forms. There is a sample custody complaint. I do not know if there is a motion for ex parte emergency custody, but it would give you a place to start. You may also want to contact Legal Aid and see if you qualify for any of their services or check with your local bar about attorneys that offer a sliding scale for their services.
