I went to court for my divorce was told I need to do the affidavit for NC not NJ
To do an affidavit of publication, you need to have first done a proper publication. Since you are not an attorney (or you wouldn't be asking a question like this) your odds of having done a publication properly are very low. You may want to consult a local family law attorney to assist you with at least this portion of the divorce. Depending on if things are messed up or not, it likely would have been less expensive to have hired an attorney to do everything for you.
