my father passed away. I received a letter from a loan company stating had "ownership interest" in property located in Texas. Not sure that there is a will. And his common-in-law wife and her family has sold person belongings of my dad's and possibly his property. What are my legal claim's to this
A lot depends on whether he had a will, and if so, what it said. A lot more depends on whether or not the lady is really his "common-law wife." You might consider refraining from characterizing her as his common-law wife. You may be better off making her prove her marital status.
You should see a probate lawyer immediately.
