my baby and i tested positive for meth and my mom came from new jersey to obtain temporary guardianship of him .how do we get it so he will be kept in our family?
Now that CPS is involved, they have control over everything. If they are cooperating with placing the baby with your mother, that is good. If they are not, your mother needs to hire an attorney and fight to be considered a placement option. Part of the problem will be how far away your mother is from Nevada, as CPS will really have no way of monitoring the child (or you, if you leave the state). If you wish to overcome your addiction and be a parent to this child, you also need to get an attorney (or ask for one to be appointed to you) and work through the resources CPS has available to help you get clean.
