I recently bought a vehicle and am financing part of the vehicle price! I bought under my personal name and actually would like to transfer to my corporation!
Is there anyway to do this? I have done a lot of research and am unable to come up with any answers!!
Call or visit the DMV office on 17th street and they should give you the information you need. The information presented herein is for general purposes only. It is not intended to, and may not be construed as legal, tax or accounting advice. For specific advice, please consult a tax attorney or business attorney in person. Good luck. The DMV will help you. Don't forget to change your insurance as well.
Note - you are not correcting the title, you are transferring the title.
Be sure your CPA also properly handles the transfer, and also try to document in your annual minutes.
The above is general legal and business analysis. It is not "legal advice" but analysis, and different lawyers may analyse this matter differently, especially if there are additional facts not reflected in the question. I am not your attorney until retained by a written retainer agreement signed by both of us. I am only licensed in California. Of course you can transfer to the corporation. You file the papers with the Department of Motor Vehicles. The question is what do you paper the transaction with the corporation and for that it is best to sit down with your business lawyer.
