I had a FOID card but no C.C. I completed the 24months probation with no issues and I wanted to seal/expunge my record for employment.
Talk to a lawyer who does expungements (That is not ALL crim def. lawyers) and bring your court papers. You sound like a good candidate for sealing but this is where that whole "does he have a gang affiliation" can mess you up.
Every Good Wish.
You would need to file a petition to seal (not expunge) your record with the court clerk of the county in which you were tried. If your employment relates to the security field, then your CC license will likely be denied because law enforcement can see sealed records. However, you would have the option of appealing their decision if it's denied. Good luck.

You cannot expunge such a conviction. If you really want to have it expunged, you would have to file an Executive Clemency Petition requesting to be able to expunge such a conviction.
