New York clerk of courts notified me that it is currently sealed and I need a court order to obtain a certified copy. I’m based in Atlanta Georgia, the divorce occurred in New York back in 1985.
Either the attorney of record for the deceased or a duly appointed representative (through probate, viz., Administrator or Executor) should be able to obtain the copies.
The executor of the estate should be able to obtain one, especially through counsel. There are quite a few ways to be able to obtain one.
