Only one out of 2 swamp coolers work, I've mentioned it to my boss more than 3 different times about how hot it is, I have even asked for them to turn the broken one on, even though it's just hot air blowing out. Because when you're sweating so bad from humidity and heat while indoors, any type of breeze is better than none at all. My first 2 weeks at this job they didn't even have any thing but 1 fan sitting on the counter, I have inquired with the other girl I work with and she informed me that the boss hasn't even tried to fix the coolers. I just started this job June 26, 2018. Living here in Phoenix, Az. Our summers are well over 109 degrees, and for working at this cleaners where we send all the clothes out to be pressed, I'm not understanding why it is so miserable inside, I have COPD and have had more issues with my breathing in the past 4 weeks since I started here. Is there any way legally to "make" my boss repair the broken coolers?
Probably not. Contact OSHA and see if there is any violation. They may prompt a repair if it violates their safety rules.
