My boyfriend and child's father was charged with burglary and kidnapping when he was 16 as he was with a group of friends. Hes about to be 22 now and just got put in a county jail in October for this crime. His attorney filed an appeal for him and I am wondering if I can put in any good words for him to help his appeal. He hasn't had any charges since and been a great father to his daughter. I am currently pregnant with his child and giving birth in February. I really need him here with me so if there is anything you can advise me to do, please let me know. Thank you so much for your time.
You need to pse these questions to the lawyer handling the appeal. But, an appeal is pretty much limited to the record below
There's really not much you can do to "speed up" the appellate process. You should also know that it is unethical for any attorney to give legal advice to someone else who is represented by counsel. He has an attorney and should be able to answer any questions you have about this process. Have a great day!
