I was just informed by my realtor that an eviction notice was filled against me in 2015 for a place that I used to live at. However, I moved out in 2013. The landlord knew this because I spoke to him in person prior to moving out and told him I wasn't renewing my lease but my friend is staying there. How do I go about getting this removed? There's no contact information for my old landlord.
There is nothing you can do about this. Court records cannot be changed. If you failed to get the landlord to remove your name from the lease when you vacated the premises and to give you a release, you could arguably be held liable for what transpired after you left. All that you can do is submit a statement of up 100 words to each of the credit reporting agencies explaining the situation.
