I got a 3rd dwi in the state of Minnesota in November of 2011. I was told that I would loose my license for 3 years. I completed all sentence requirements, and I now live in Texas. When I tried to get my license here, they said to contact Minnesota. Upon contacting the dps office in mn, the told me I have to have 3 years of ignition interlock to get it back. Is there anyway possible to avoid this? I haven't drank in over 5 years, and am just trying to move past this. I don't even live in the state anymore, and have no desire to ever return. Please advise. I heard that it's possible for Texas to override Minnesota's hold. Is that true? I just want to get a Texas license
You will have to hire a traffic ticket lawyer here in Dallas as well as in Minnesota. best of luck.
