My son and his wife are meth users and they invited friends into my home. I am a man in my seventies and I can no longer stand to live in my own home. They have stolen things from me(big screen t.v., jewelry) and use my water and electricity and made a huge mess of my yard. Police come out almost every day and scare them off but they come right back. The police have also told me that these people can be there during the day because my son invited them. My son wife is being evicted and it's getting near the end of that process but I have just started evicting my son as well. What can I do to get my home back? Isn't this a form of elder abuse?
Sounds to me like a form of elder abuse. Technically they are trespassing on your property which is a crime. But many police agencies consider this a civil matter. Look up local legal aid organizations that do landlord tenant work and elder abuse.
