Home was foreclosed. Initially had cash for keys. However, took ill and was delayed packing. Advised realtor, thereby going well beyond 30 day agreement. Patio door rekeyed and not the front door. Continued packing. Trash out person, appeared. I asked for her to call police. She told police l threatened her and was trespassing. Realtor said to give an hour to finish packing. Escorted off property without items. Please help.
You should start by formalizing your request for your property, in writing, and deliver to all appropriate parties. Unfortunately, in the cash for keys scenario, you signed away several rights, but most identifiable parties will comply with reasonable requests for the return of identified property. Use kind words, honey goes a lot farther and litigation is expensive. Best of luck
I am sorry to learn of your unfortunate situation. I wish that I could say that it is not a common situation, but sadly it is a product of our times. You should have an attorney write a letter to the lender's attorney. I am sure they will cooperate with you to get your possessions returned, unless they were destroyed, in which case the attorney may be able to help you further. Good luck.
