I got my first DUI in 1988 then got my second and third a week apart from one another in 1991. I was ordered to do the 18 month DUI program. i refuse to do the program because my last DUI was 27 years ago. how can i get around having to do the 18 month program? i still dont have my license and its been 27 years.
I'm guessing you've been driving for 27 years then without a license?
There's no getting around it. You have to take the 18-month class if you want a license. After 27 years, why do you suddenly care?

Unfortunately, there is no "getting around" the requirement, if you want a driver's license then you have to do it.
This answer is not legal advice, it may not even be relevant to the question answered, it definitely is does not establish an attorney/client relationship.
You can't. DMV won't reinstate until your program is done.
I am licensed attorney who focuses on Serious DUI Cases such a 2nd DUIs, 3rd DUIs, 4th DUIs, and Felony DUIs and DMV hearings. I also have much experience handling car accident cases. Although the information I provide is helpful, it is not legal advice. Although Avvo makes it clear to consumers that attorney answers to questions are for general purposes only and do not establish an attorney-client relationship, some attorneys prefer to add their own disclaimers to answers. You can set your custom disclaimer here and it will be automatically added to your answers. Do NOT include any direct solicitations or contact information.
You got 3 DUI's within 10 years- The DMV will not issue you a license until you do program.
