How can I get a divorce in North Carolina without having to wait a year?

I'm a little confused, because you say you left him 10 years ago and that you do not want to wait one year. If you moved out of the marital home ten years ago, the 1-year requirement is already satisfied. It is 1 year from separation, not 1 year from filing for divorce.

You can't. At least, not without committing a felony. However, if you have 6 to 8 weeks and 6 to 8 grand, you can travel to sunny Guam and legally divorce there without having to wait the year.
