I operate a music school for children. One of our student parents is behaving strangely during his child's classes, wandering around the building and lobby, stretching and exercising. We already had to tell him that he isn't allowed to occupy our classrooms or administrative office for personal use, so now he's doing it in the lobby. What's a good way to handle something like this while minimizing risk of getting sued for telling him what he can or can't do with his body on the premises. From one angle, I guess I could say that it's a liability because we are not a gym... but I'm lost on this one.
Not really a legal question, it is an interpersonal issue. Tell him your lobby is intended merely for purposes related to your business.

I agree, not really a legal question. I would however take the parent aside and note to him if it is that important to you and your business, that if he refuses to stop, you will expel his child and of course give him a refund.

Good comments above. I'm wondering if your building has any security personnel, or an owner/landlord, who could use their authority to ask this person to use the lobby for what it's intended for - ingress and egress from the building, and nothing else.
You do have the right to refuse service to anyone, as long as it's for a non-discriminatory reason, so you'd be within your rights to expel this person and their child.
