Go lo the Secretary of State website and look for information about the possible new corporation.
You may or may not be able to glean ownership info from the state records, but my colleagues provided the links so take a look and see what you can find.
That said, I think you should discuss the situation with a lawyer in more detail and in private so a best course of action can be reached. There is not enough info provided here to offer any insights and you should not reveal too much online anyway.
