Use the AVVO site's Find a lawyer tab to find lawyers in your area and discuss payments with them as well as interview them concerting their experience defending murder cases.
You can use AVVO's "find a lawyer" tab to find lawyers near you and inquire as to their willingness to take a murder case on a payment plan. Murder cases are the most expensive type of North Carolina state criminal case and you may have trouble finding a good, experienced, qualified lawyer who is willing to take a case of this seriousness on a payment plan. If you cannot find a lawyer willing to do this, your husband should apply for court-appointed counsel to ensure that he is represented by qualified counsel.
You can start your search here in the Find A Lawyer Section. You can also contact the local bar association for referrals or use Google. Meet with a few lawyers and see if any are workable for you. Understand that murder defenses are very expensive. You may find a lawyer willing to work on a payment plan, but you'll still be likely required to make a sizeable downpayment.
Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals.
