I lost a fake id at a bar a few months ago and the police just got it. I was emailed saying my license will be suspended for a year and I have to come talk to them and pay a fine or not talk to them and face more severe consequences. What can i do in this situation?
You need a lawyer. Contact and hire an attorney with experience in traffic violations and license suspensions.
Seems odd they would contact you via email. Best to consult with a local attorney to find a way out of this. Good luck.

Hire a lawyer. Do not speak with the police unless and until your lawyer says it's OK to do so.
Although AVVO describes this site as providing free legal advice, it is really a simple Q&A forum. The volunteer attorneys provide general answers. No specific legal advice is given here and no attorney-client relationship is established. For precise direction and legal advice, please consult in person with an attorney in your area. Be sure to bring all relevant paperwork with you.
If this just happened and the email is genuine (this seems very strange) and this event happened in Urbana, you can work around this. If it happened in Champaign, maybe. Step one is get a lawyer. Do not talk to the police without one but, this is one rare case where you will probably want to talk to them. If you're a student, go to Student Legal Services. If you're not, go to somebody who does lots of DUI's Many fine lawyers there Act quickly. Also, discuss this with nobody else.
