Will my credit score increase if I begin making payments on my multiple student loans even if they are in forbearance or deferment status? They are considered to be in good standing while they are in these statutes, so will making payments on them while they are deferred boost my score or have no impact??
I believe the only possible benefit of paying your loans earlier than they are due would be to reduce the amount of your outstanding debt, which would probably increased your credit score, but the primary effect is to pay your loans on time, as so much as a single late payment can slam your score. Your decision.
