My husband has a agreed order that he has legal and physical custody of her. The other parent abandoned her she doesn't pay support anymore she didn't even when she was supposed to she was like 5,000 behind she hasn't seen or talked to her in over 3 to 4 years. So how to I go about adopting her.
Your best bet would be to hire a lawyer to handle the adoption for you. The mother will have to either sign a Surrender of Parental Rights and Consent to Adoption, or be sued to terminate her parental rights. If you can prove that she has not supported the child and has had no contact with the child for several years, it is likely that a Court would terminate her parental rights and grant the adoption. Consult a local attorney to discuss this further.
