I have had my great granddaughter since she was 2 weeks old thru cps when she was 8 months old they gave me conservertorship over her how can I adopt her
You will need an attorney to assist you with that process and you will have to deal with CPS. Yes, you can adopt her. How are you going to care for her long term? Will her parents want to be involved? The attorney will want answers to those questions and more. Take copies of all your paperwork with you to the attorney. Be ready to explain how you are caring for your granddaughter on a day-to-day basis. Medical and school records will be needed. Have parental rights been terminated? If so, can you get copies of those documents? Your granddaughter is not eligible for adoption unless her parents agree and their rights are terminated. If there is a formal court conservatorship, get copies of those documents. The more information you have, the better your attorney will be able to help from the outset. Her birth certificate, those of her parents, and yours, too. It would be great if you put all of that in a notebook with tabs and a table of contents for the attorney.
