to be honest it's not really my situation but another part of my family who's a bit too lost to ask , I'll try to be brief.
After about 8 years of fighting, my dad just found out he lost his appeal.
he didn't tell me too much but from what i understand, this rose from an incident that resulted in an officer being fired and my father being demoted from Durham VA police chief to assistant chief of ward clerks. While he works to the best of his ability in his current position he isn't at all happy. The Durham VA has dragged both the original court date and the appeal results out as long as possible, resulting in making him wait so long for answers and court appearances. He claims because they've (the durham VA) have blackballed him he can't do anything to move, get a better job, or at least get the job he used to have at a different VA.
There is really not enough information here to give you a helpful response. What type of claim was this? This sounds like a situation that would need to be handled with an in-person consultation with a lawyer who can ask the appropriate questions and review the appropriate information.

You have told us the consequences, but not the cause and especially the reasons. Not enough here to deal with....and that said, in public forums such as this one, you need to be careful what you write...
