My son was was involved with 2 others in a crime and was sentenced to 9 yrs, 2 strikes same as the other 2. It was his first offense while the other 2 have records. He's been Incarcerated almost 2 yrs. Being incarcerated is doing a disservice to him. He's very depressed and there's no rehabilitation going on. There is nothing to rehabilitate. He doesn't do drugs, doesn't drink or smoke and is not gang related. He made one bad choice. He's remorseful. Isn't a danger to anyone and his being there is ruining him. I need help with clemency.
I know I’m going to sound mean an sarcastic... but doesn’t prison time cause a disservice to anyone who ends up there? He made a bad choice and he is suffering the consequences....
If you’re looking for pardon, it won’t happen until he’s out https://www.gov.ca.gov/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/How-To-Apply-for-a-Pardon-10.24.18.pdf
Sorry but there are two models in the criminal justice system that have an age old debate... retribution vs rehabilitation. Prisons are there to punish not just rehabilitate. You don’t have to be a danger to society to go to prison..., ask Martha Stewart about that one.
He needs to take advantage of the prison programs but he’s been convicted and sentenced...
