How can a bondsman call me asking me if I know someone, when I changed my number and the person in jail doesn’t have my new #?
is my name and number still being associated with John Doe? Also the bail bond company said they got my number from public record...i am confused what public record is out there with my new phone number ? I did call the police on John Doe back in 2007....he did time. My current fiancé is out on bond now. Is it a possibility that the bonds company that called me looking for John Doe found my number from the recent information from me bailing my fiancé out recently ? Im just really concerned on how a bonds company I’ve never dealt with has my new number and is asking me about someone I haven’t seen or talked to in over 10 years ....and all she could tell me was it’s public record

They are using Private Investigator tools to track down John Doe. There are databases that combine public records, credit report data, information scraped off social media, license plate scanners and so on to create a complete profile. In addition to your credit score, they know your past phone numbers and street address, your Facebook friends, what type of car you drive, where you've driven, and at what time of day you drove there.
This is not legal advice. Avvo Q&A does not establish an attorney-client relationship.
