October 2015, I was send here as a expat Lounge Manager in an german catering company, the first lounge they have in the US. Since January 2017 i have a local contract. Last monday March 6,2017 i was force to resign for the reason that the company is not making money and an incident happen while i was on vacation, our sous chef serve food that is bad and not following the hygiene protocol for that reason my supervisor asking for suspension for our staffing agency. Our client who i believe have a personal relationship with him, call the staffing agency and He demanded to rehire the person that i fired, this id a conflict of interest. Unfortunate my boss rehire him and force me to resign for this reason. I am wrongfully terminated without a valid reason, it's not my fault if the company is not making money because they calculated the budget without researching how expensive new york is. I am still in the payroll until June.
You should bring your contract and resignation to an employment lawyer to discuss if t you can take legal action to challenge your termination.
Whether you have a claim will depend on what your contract says. Contact a local employment attorney to have them review it and discuss your options with you.
