Hi I allowed my cousin driver not knowing he didn't have a license and my insurance was expired.what would be my penalty. This is my 2nd offense for no insurance.
From the court you can expect to pay fines and costs of anywhere between 500-1000.00. The allowing an unlicensed person to operate your vehicle is a misdemeanor subject 93 days and or a 500.00 fine. As to the other ticket see if you can either get the ticket dismissed or reduced to no proof insurance with is a civil infraction.
Of greater concern is the impact your conviction will have on your license. The state could suspend your license if you are convicted of either allowing an unlicensed person to operate the vehicle or no insurance. My suggestion would be to retain an attorney as the implications have the possibility of extending beyond just a day in court. Good luck.
A good traffic law attorney licensed in Michigan is the best option to address your repeated issue on driving without a valid automobile insurance and permitting an unlicensed motorist to operate your vehicle to avoid drastic complications of your driving privileges in Michigan.
