My court date is tomorrow April 16 2019 and don't want points on my driving record as I don't hv a single point on my license now. What should I do? Ticket is not eligible to be paid online. If I choose the plea bargain deal with prosecutor to reduce to zero how much fine will I hv to pay. Need urgent advice on this issue. Thanks.
IF the prosecutor offers you a deal it would probably be to an unsafe driving ticket which for a first offense has around $450.00 in fines. The problem is when you have a mandatory court appearance it is harder to get a no point ticket so it may not be offered, as it generally means that some other circumstances were involved. If the ticket is really important to you to get no points hire a lawyer as it gives you the best chance of making that happen.
A bit more about your drivers history would help. You may want to chat with an attorney about this. Most even offer free consultations. Best of luck
Tim Asch is the prosecutor, tough but fair. You cannot enter an intersection on yellow. Are you sure it cannot be paid. Call the court, I think it can. You can get a 0 pointer from Tim but it is likely going to be "unsafe driving" 39:4-97.2, $439 first offense. You can only use this downgrade twice in five years. An attorney could likely get you a less expensive 0 pointer but the attorney's fee negates any savings. So you can pay for the 2 pointer outside court, if they let you, or inside court and take an approved safe driving course to remove the points if you insurance company honor the reduction and you are otherwise eligible (once in three years). Or if you do have special circumstance, like you drive for Uber, have a CDL etc. maybe use an attorney.
