Please advice which type of business I should open. I have a friend who is citizen. I can make him as owner if needed and start a company on his name and keep all the shares on my name. Please advise me what type of company I should start.
USCIS says I can start a company but I should do only relevant work of my degree , I think I can’t do the manager or administrative work. I can employee someone to do it, Also currently I am working as a software engineer for a company full- time. So my plan is to tell USCIS that I am still working to my related field and start this new company and just be a investor or have all the shares on my name.
Can I start an S corp or it needs a citizen.
I have understood that I can start LLC but confused will LLC or S corp be a right option for me.

If you are going to start any sort of business venture on F-1 you need to consult an attorney at every step of the process so that you do not lose your F-1 status. Depending on your field of study, you will be limited as to what you can and cannot do within your company, and would need to document those duties. As far as the corporation setup, contact an attorney in the state you wish to incorporate so that you can be advised of the tax and corporate structure implications. Also - the Secretary of State website is a good resource for corporation setup.
