Your citation gives you a date to make an appearance with the court - usually with the court clerk. Take your insurance in when you make that appearance.
You might call ahead however. The clerk might require an insurance affidavit, which your insurance agent/company can provide to you. Here in Ada County I believe they want an affidavit and not just the card you carry in your vehicle.
