I was buying a truck from a friend for $900.00 the night we made the deal I I gave him $200.00 n told him to keep the truck until I had paid him all the money but he insisted that I take it so we shook hands and the very next day I gave him $80.00 and there was no agreement on how much I had to give him at any given time. So the next day I wasn't able to go into work cause it was bad weather n I work outside so he called and said that I had to bring the truck b
To his daughters house by 12:30pm cause he had it sold to someone else and that he would pay or give me my money back. Well its been almost 4 weeks and he hasn't sold the truck nor has he given me any of my money back nor will he answer his phone. What if any are my rights. I have receipts where I paid him n what it was for.
Your best course of action will likely be to sue him in small claims court. The amount involved will not likely justify hiring a lawyer. I wish you the best.
