I rear ended someone on the highway, and the cops were called. I was given a ticket for failure to control speed. Police officer told me that if the other party doesn't show (unlikely if my insurance does everything it's supposed to), I can show up and then ticket will be dismissed. Basically, I'd like to know how reliable this info was and what I should plead on showing up to court (I assume Not Guilty?). And if I do plead not guilty, will that negatively affect the judges decision if he/she does NOT dismiss my ticket (such as not letting me take the driving course in lieu of points)? Thanks in advance.
Hire a good ticket atty in Houston, they have several, and they can almost certainly get the ticket dismissed. They are not too epensive and well worth the money.
