I got a speeding ticket in NYC 15 days ago. I have been trying to plead online, but the ticket cannot be found.
Am I responsible to plead through some other means (eg. by mail or in person) even though the ticket has not showed up online?
Is the 15 day window a hard deadline?
The DMV lets you enter your email address so it can notify you when the ticket shows up. But does that even make sense because there is a 15 day window to plead?
PS: Because the 15 day window ends today, I'm thinking about mailing it to Albany, but I'm concerned about mailing it out? What if it gets lost? I feel the system is so inefficient.
I have also thought about pleading in person. Should I do that instead today?
This is a very common issue. Just keep checking the site on a weekly basis. The 15 day window won't hurt you.
