I was going 17 over the speed limit. It’s my first ticket and I realize the consequences of points added to my driving record and insurance. I am just curious if I pay it I can avoid going to court all together.
By prepaying you are pleading guilty to speeding 17 over and will get 6 points on your license. Your insurance premium is likely to go up, and, if you get to 12 in a 2 year period, your license can be suspended. I would recommend speaking to an attorney to see what other options may be available to you in the jurisdiction where you got this citation.
