The DUI happened over 3 years ago just before I turned 21.
For clarification, you got your driver's license suspended due to a DUI that happened 3 years ago, and you never got your license back, and now you got a new misdemeanor for driving on a suspended license, and you missed your first court date?
If we assume that you resolved everything with your DUI, and it's just a 14601.2, the sentencing range is 10 days to 180 days County jail. However, if you now have your license most DAs are willing to drop it down to a 14601.1 with no minimum, or a 12500 misdemeanor or infraction. I would suggest hiring an attorney who can argue for you to get you the least amount of consequences.
You may want to hire an attorney to go in with you to try to negotiate terms. Take advantage of the free consultations many attorneys offer. May be worth talking to someone about your specific situation.
Attorney answers to questions are for general purposes only and do not establish an attorney-client relationship.
If you have a license and no prior convictions you shouldn’t be looking at jail. More like fines just depends on your record. I agree with Brian above regarding the jail potentials on those charges. Go in to get that warrant recalled ASAP. Hire an attorney or walk in yourself. Consult with an attorney in your area, if you can’t afford it a public defender can help
