I have had custody of my grandchild for over a year. I may at some point be able to adopt. I receive TNF for the child - and the state Department of Revenue started a support case. I realize the money owed to the state would have to be paid back - but could the back arrears ever be forgiven?
Florida law allows you to forgive child support arrears. You should notify the Department of Revenue if you wish to forgive arrears that are owed to you.
