I have a 2006 index number on an IndyMac / Columbia Home Loans mortgage. Steve Baum was the Plaintiff's Attorney. Plaintiff moved for Appointment of Referee twice in 2007 and was denied. Mortgages were assigned to Duetsche, as Trustee for one of those "MBS" Trusts and in 2010 was denied Appointment of Referee a third time. Case was just marked Pre Note; "Purged / Inactivity" in December 2014. What does that mean? Does that mean my case is no longer active? Discontinued? Also, there is now an upcoming "Vacant / Abandoned Property Conference" now set for July. What does that mean as well?
You need to pull the file from Suffolk Supreme Court in Riverhead and see if the action was ever dismissed by the Court for want of prosecution. Basically, you need to pull the Court file to see what happened. If you don't know how to do that, speak to an attorney.
It could mean any of these things. You'll have to visit the Suffolk County Clerk's Office in order to confirm your conclusions.
Ultimately, it may not hurt to at least consult with an attorney regarding this matter. If you cannot keep abreast of a legal matter in which you are currently involved, you should hire someone who can do so on your behalf.
Good luck with your case!
I agree with my colleagues. You will need to review the court file. Generally a case is marked "Dismissed:" if that was what the court did. I strongly suggest that you consult with an attorney who handles foreclosures in Suffolk county and have them properly advise you.
