They have been taking money out of my check $237 dollars . I barely have money for my car & rent . Or is there any rights I can sign over to stop paying child support. If I go on unemployment can they still garnish my wages? When my baby mother had my son I wasn't present to sign the birth certificate or my name isn't on there .
Sex acts have consequences. You fathered a child, and no matter what the grievances are between you and the mother, nothing in our law or culture exempts you from providing financial support for the child, whether you ever see your child, or not. It makes no difference whether you were there for the birth, or not, nor does it matter that your name is not on the birth certificate. Nor does it matter that the garnishment leaves you with no extra money.
