State of North Carolina. My wife and I had a non contested divorce. She committed acts that would fall into the real of alienation of affection. While going through the year separation, I made the minimum payments of a credit card in her name. After the actual divorce, Her parents recently purchased(?) The dept by refinancing their mortgage. I did not sign any paperwork, and she wants me to make payments that I cannot make.
Assuming your divorce is complete, your name isn't on the credit card, and as long as there isn't a court order out there that says you are responsible for making those payments, you have no obligation to be the one to make the monthly payments.
